Hello!
My name is Tanya and I am an award-winning animation director, writer, illustrator, and general creative human person who currently resides in London.
I like good stories, cats, baked goods, and medieval manuscripts... Things you're likely to find in most of my work.
For over 15 years I helped to make children's television series for some of the biggest studios in the UK, focusing mainly on design and art direction for kids but I also ventured into commercials, interactive content and games.I now specialise in creating and developing IP, both independently and as a consultant. Be it storytelling or design, I use all this experience to reinforce my ability to develop and generate ideas in ways which are constructive to a healthy and creative pipeline, while ensuring these stories are told in unique and beautiful ways.
You will see this in "The Underglow", a Pre-school series I co-created with Writer Sam Morrison. This series has made it through The Ignite scheme and is commissioned by the BBC. Within the development stages I act as Production Designer and Director. I have also succeeded in publishing as the Author and Illustrator of the Wizkit Series ("Wizkit: An Adventure Overdue" and "Wizkit 2: A Tail of Disruption"). These are Graphic Novels for Middle Grade readers, published by Simon and Schuster USA.
A creative career has a lot of ups and downs, and I believe in a fairer and more inclusive animation industry. Because of this, I also voluntarily host a podcast series focusing on these topics to encourage positive change and am a member of the WIAUK leadership team. I also mentor, teach and generally try to do good when I'm not making things.
